METCO Metal Fab Expands Chattanooga Operations with New Facility, Workforce Growth, and Equipment Investment
Expansion includes 59,000 sq ft facility, additional skilled workforce, and advanced 12kW fiber laser capability
Chattanooga, TN – METCO Metal Fab LLC is expanding its operations in Chattanooga following its relocation in July 2024 to a 59,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 99 Textile Lane.
The move has supported continued growth in workforce, production capacity, and technical capability. It also positions the company to respond to increasing demand across multiple industries.
Since relocating, METCO has grown from 22 employees to 33 as of July 2026. The company plans to reach approximately 40 employees by the end of the year.
The additional space has allowed for improved workflow and increased throughput. As a result, the organization can serve a broader customer base across the Southeast and beyond.
Manufacturing Technology Investments
As part of its ongoing investment in manufacturing capability, METCO has added a 12kW Amada fiber laser cutting system. The system is scheduled to be operational in August 2026.
The new laser is expected to increase cutting capacity, reduce lead times, and support larger and more complex sheet metal fabrication projects.
Additional investments include two machining centers and a CNC lathe. Together, these additions expand fabrication and machining capacity.
These investments reflect a commitment to addressing challenges faced by OEMs and equipment manufacturers. These challenges include long lead times, capacity constraints, and the need for consistent, repeatable quality in production.
By expanding both equipment and personnel, the manufacturer is strengthening its ability to assist customers early in the quoting process and throughout production.
Applications and Markets Served
METCO currently supplies fabricated components and assemblies a variety of applications, including:
- Electronic equipment and electrical enclosures
- Fabricated structures such as chutes, hoppers, and storage racks
- Heavy-duty sleds used in mining operations
- Mobile housing for data center infrastructure
- Replacement fabrication for legacy equipment
Positioned for Continued Growth

The Chattanooga facility provides access to major regional transportation routes. In addition, the location supports the metal fabricator’s long-term strategy to expand its geographic reach and manufacturing expertise nationwide.
